Causal agent: Nephotettix spp. (Nephotettix virescens and Nephotettix cincticeps). It is the major vector for transmitting the tungro virus disease. Symptoms: Partial to pronounced yellowing and increasing severity of stunting. Extreme signs are wilting to death of plants. Infected areas in the field may be patchy.
