Comment: Often found in reaction wood in dicots and in some phloem fiber cells (PO:0004519), as in Linum usitatissimum. In gelatinous fiber cells, the inner layer of the cell wall is a cellulosic gelatinous-layer or G-layer, which may be relatively porous and less compact than the outer layers of the cell wall and may absorb water and swell.
