Definition
A protein complex that causes translational repression in Drosophila. Prevents assembly of ribosomes at the mRNA by interfacing with a sequence-specific RNA-binding protein leading to recruitment of the CCR4 complex and consequently, reduction of the mRNA's poly(A) tail length. The complex is also required for dorso-ventral pattern formation in the embryo. Source: PMID:14723848, GOC:bhm
Comment
An example of this is Eif4e in drome (P48598) in PMID:14723848 (inferred from physical interaction).
