Synonyms
CDC20-MAD2 complex
Alternate IDs

Definition
A protein complex involved in the spindle checkpoint, preventing the activation of the anaphase-promoting complex until all chromosomes are correctly attached in a bipolar fashion to the mitotic spindle. In budding yeast this complex consists of Mad2p and Cdc20p, and in mammalian cells it consists of MAD2 and CDC20. Source: PMID:15879521, GOC:bhm
