Definition
An evaluation of the integration of root shape, size, diameter, constriction, neck length on a scale of 1-5 with 1=very good; 5=very bad. Before scoring the roots, the field technician walks the harvested plot to get an idea of the average root type of the trial which will then be used as a score of 3. Genotypes better than average will be scored 2 and 1 in that order. Similiar genotype that are certainly worse compared to the average score are rated 4 and 5 in that order.
